The Show Must Go On: Graphite Drawings on Duralar

September 22nd, 2009 § 0

Just several hours ago I woke up from a little nap to urinate.  Upon doing so the whole bathroom roof collapsed upon me while I was almost fully naked.  Luckily I got to finish urinating before this beautiful incident happened (and I came out in one piece).  You can check out the photos of the damage here.  Pretty crazy huh?  Anyways…this is an art blog…not a personal diary of my deepest darkest confessions of a death hungry bathroom.  I just wanted to show you all that I am human…well…almost.

And so the show must go on.  Recently I have been working on duralar/mylar with a Faber Castell 1.4mm pencil.  I must say it is great stuff to work on, for me at least.  I also wet my finger with spit and smear things around where I find necessary.  I’ve been trying to fine tune my work recently and not focusing on too much of the shadow shapes but how the light reveals the form and I must say there is a big difference.  Some of these drawings are finished, some of them I am still adding to their compositions, and some still a work in progress.
